چکیده

Employing non-metallic reinforcement made of fiber-reinforced polymers (FRPs) as textile grids is one promising extension the utilization range FRP in concrete construction, and thin planar elements reinforced this manner have high application potential bridge or parking garage decks, façades, webs flanges hollow core cross-sections. Existing models for predicting shear resistance such were derived solid cross-sectional dimensions similar to conventional steel-reinforced structures, their slabs debatable. This paper presents results an extensive experimental program on one-way capacity without with carbon FPR reinforcement. A variation member height, slenderness, ratio allowed analysis most relevant influencing factors resistance. Both preformed C-shaped enhance are suitable slabs. The foundation derivation new unifying that applicable a wider materials dimensions.

Estimation of Punching Shear Capacity of Concrete Slabs Using Data Mining Techniques

Punching shear capacity is a key factor for governing the collapsed form of slabs. This fragile failure that occurs at the slab-column connection is called punching shear failure and has been of concern for the engineers. The most common practice in evaluating the punching strength of the concrete slabs is to use the empirical expressions available in different building design codes. The estima...

Experimental Study on Precast Concrete Shear Walls with Different Hollow Slabs

To study mechanical behaviors of shear walls built with precast two-way hollow slabs, two shear walls with different details of hollow slabs were quasi-statically tested under low cyclic loading. The failure mode was analyzed, which vertical macro-cracks appeared on walls due to the details of hollow slabs. Brittle shear failure can be avoided in terms of the failure behaviors evolved from inte...

Experimental Investigation on Shear Cracking Behavior in Reinforced Concrete Beams with Shear Reinforcement

This paper presents an experimental investigation to clarify shear cracking behavior of reinforced concrete beams. The effects of the various influential parameters on the spacing between shear cracks and the relationship between shear crack width and stirrup strain at the intersection with shear cracks were carefully investigated. It was found that shear crack width proportionally increases wi...

Shear Capacity of Reinforced Concrete Flat Slabs Made with High-strength Concrete: A Numerical Study of the Effect of Size, Location, and Shape of the Opening (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Nowadays, concrete with strength higher than 50 MPa is utilized due to the ever increasing need for higher strength and prolonged healing properties. Despite the widespread use of high-strength concrete, only a few research projects have been conducted on the punching shear strength of high-strength concrete slabs. Reinforced concrete flat slabs are widely employed in structural systems. The lo...
